Shilo Inn Salem

The junior suite was nice and very quiet, and the room was a good price. The hotel is remodeling the fourth floor, so there’s no breakfast bar. As the soup Nazi would say, “No breakfast bar for you.” It’s not in a convenient location, and you have to go elsewhere for services. The WiFi was poor and seemed about 15 years out of date. They need more speed. When the SpaceX Falcon heavy lifted off, their internet went offline, which really sucked. Please fix it. Maybe they’ll get it done someday.

Even without a smoking room, this is one of the best places I’ve stayed in Salem, and I’d definitely come back. The employees were so kind and helpful, especially when I was going through chemo and stage 4 cancer. I can’t thank you enough. I appreciate you all so much. Keep up the good work!

The room was old and unclean. The beds were dusty, and the sheets were stained. Both my friend and I had bad itching all over after staying there. It definitely needs better cleaning and maintenance.

The staff were nice, and the room was cheap and clean. That was about the extent of the good points. The bed was awful, with tiny pillows that were either rock-hard or much too soft to support you. The room and outside of the building felt straight out of the 1970s, and the area seemed sketchy. The entrance was bare, and the whole third floor smelled like garlic. The TV picture was mostly purple. At least we only had to put up with it for one night.
