The location worked perfectly for us, just five minutes from the venue for a family wedding. It was our first stay here with my husband and kids. The service was great, and our room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was okay, though I hope they add more variety. My kids loved both the indoor kids’ pool and the regular pool.
After a disastrous stay at the Aquarius Hotel Casino in Laughlin, I needed another place urgently on October 25th. The Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Bullhead City had a room for $152 a night for two nights, well over my original budget, especially since I was already being charged for one night at the Aquarius. What seemed like an expensive hassle turned into a real lesson in hospitality. The difference was obvious right away. The front desk agent was genuinely warm and checked me in efficiently, without pushing upgrades or making things complicated. She welcomed me to Bullhead City, explained the breakfast, pool, and gym hours, and mentioned a fair down the road that was open until 9pm. She seemed interested in making the stay better, not just completing a transaction. Because I booked at the last minute, the only room available was 308, which was handicap-accessible. That was fine with me. It was spotless, smelled fresh, and was well-kept, with crisp linens and a sparkling bathroom. It had everything a hotel room should have, unlike the Aquarius. At 10pm I found that the shower hose was malfunctioning and spraying water into the bathroom, and the TV wouldn’t turn on. After what I’d just experienced, I was anxious when I went to the desk. The same agent apologized straight away and said, “Oh, we will get that fixed immediately.” Maintenance had gone for the day, so she offered me room 315, a non-accessible room with two queen beds on the same floor. She told me there was no rush and to take my time moving. That’s real hospitality, fixing a problem quickly without making you feel like a nuisance. Within minutes I was in room 315, where everything worked. I had the complimentary breakfast at 7am before my ride-along with Bullhead City Police. There were scrambled eggs, pork sausage links, pancakes, cereal, yogurt, toast, bagels, and the famous Holiday Inn cinnamon rolls. I liked them so much I took extras back to my room for after my 2pm-midnight shift. The breakfast area was clean and well stocked, with food being replenished regularly, all included. At the Aquarius I’d paid resort fees for amenities I didn’t use. Checkout on October 27th was quick and professional, without surprise charges or arguments. After the Aquarius nightmare, that was a relief. The $304 total was more than I planned to spend, and paying for two properties the same night stung. But value comes down to what you get. Here I had spotless rooms, responsive service, a generous breakfast, and confidence that problems would be handled professionally. The staff made me feel welcome and comfortable and solved problems instead of creating them. I highly recommend the Holiday Inn Express & Suites to anyone visiting Bullhead City-Laughlin. It costs a little more than the casino hotels across the river, but the difference in cleanliness, quality, and service is worth it. This stay showed me you really do get what you pay for in hospitality.
The staff and supervisor are amazing. She was very friendly and let me check in early since my schedule kept changing on a business trip. For what this hotel offers, the pool, cleanliness, location, breakfast, and especially the staff, it beats any Airbnb by a mile. Highly recommend.
This is a nonsmoking hotel, and we had such a great three-night stay. Everyone was welcoming, from the front desk and room attendants to the young man cleaning the floors, and especially the couple taking care of breakfast. If every Holiday Inn Express trained its staff like this crew, nobody could beat them!
The day lady is amazing, though now I’ve forgotten her name. The manager was rude and seemed racist. We asked to extend our stay and were told our room was booked, even though they had an identical room available. I said it would be easier to put the incoming guest in that one, as hotels do all the time. From behind the wall, the manager said very loudly, “no means no.” The new room was ready early, but she still made us move everything out, check out, then move into it. It also cost double. We called the regional office to complain, and they told us we had to file a complaint with the manager, the very person we were complaining about. IHG, treat Silver members and handicapped folks better.
