Spark by Hilton Nashville at Opryland

I came for a birthday getaway, and the location near the Oprey area, Grand Ole Oprey, and Oprey Mills mall worked well. On the second morning I found my tire flat. The front desk guy was a huge help: he used his emergency air pump to get enough air in it for me to reach a tire repair store, told me which nearby shop to go to, and helped look for the screw lodged in the tire. With service like that, I'll definitely stay here next time I'm in Nashville.

The rooms were clean, the bedding was soft, and I have no complaints about the hotel itself. Breakfast was basic, with bagels, cereal, and muffins, but it was fine. I do wish each room had a microwave for longer stays, though there's one in the lobby for everyone to use. The man who checked me in on the first day was kind and professional even with how busy things were in Nashville. I booked two rooms for four days through a third party after the winter storm left us without heat or power in East Nashville. The third party botched the reservations and charged me twice for the same room on the same dates. Mario at the front desk patiently worked through the mess with me, even though the hotel hadn't caused it. After I extended both rooms because our home was still without heat, he made sure we had confirmed rooms for the whole stay. It was a very stressful time, and he went above and beyond while I was slowly losing my mind trying to sort it all out. I definitely recommend the hotel, but book directly to avoid the headache.

The room itself was okay, but it clearly hadn't been cleaned well. There was hair in the shower and a used Q-tip tucked between the headboard and wall. At check-in, which was meant to be at 3:00 PM, there wasn't an employee to be found. More guests arrived and were waiting too. After about 15 minutes of standing around and calling the hotel, we finally got into our room. The place looked bombed out and depleted, like something you'd hear said about Afghanistan.

Diego made this stay for me. He handled every request quickly and professionally, always with a great attitude, and it's clear he takes pride in looking after guests. Service like his is rare, and he sets a very high bar. Everything from check-in to checkout went smoothly and without stress. Spark by Hilton at Opryland exceeded my expectations: it's clean, modern, comfortable, close to everything, and still quiet when you want to unwind. One of my best Nashville hotel stays. I'll absolutely be back, and if Diego's working, you'll be in good hands.
