Fairfield Inn & Suites Burlington

We’ll definitely book the Fairfield again when we pass through Burlington. Our room was spotless, the linens were crisp, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The whole hotel was clean, modern, and well maintained, and the free breakfast had a decent range of fresh, high-quality options. Earlier in the week we stayed down the street at a less nice hotel that cost more, even though it was also a weekend and the room setup was the same. Very nice place for the price.

We called from the car before arriving, and the woman at the front desk said we could get a room without booking ahead. She was right. She was welcoming and helpful, and the stay was comfortable. No complaints.

The service was good, as usual, and breakfast was plentiful. The fitness center was clean and all the equipment worked well. But I’m used to better rooms at Marriott properties. This one was tidy, though it could use upgrades: the mattress and pillows need replacing, and the heater clanked all night. Those things kept us from sleeping well, and we won’t return to this location.

It’s a nice hotel, but that surprise $5 parking charge knocked off a star. There are plenty of spaces in both lots, and the hotel is next to a Love travel center in far eastern Colorado, so the fee seems out of line. If they need another $5 per night, they should add it to the rate instead of slipping it in and insulting guests in the middle of nowhere. We like staying here because of the Dish Room, a farm-to-table gem in the small town of Burlington, and we plan travel stops around eating there when we can.
