Studio 6 Buttonwillow, CA

The checkout time was 11am, but housekeeping opened my door at 9:30am while I was getting dressed. I wasn't checking out early. The front desk brushed it off, saying housekeeping was cleaning rooms for early checkouts. They need a better system or better employee training. It's low-cost accommodation without privacy or consideration for guests, and I can't recommend it.

Avoid this place if you can, and definitely don't use the credit card reader. They told me only the chip reader worked. My card was skimmed, and fraudulent charges started soon after.

The rooms are set farther back, away from highway noise, and each has a fridge and microwave. This is at the back of the vagabond Inn in Buttonwillow. I booked at the last minute for an excellent price and could park right outside my room, which is always a plus. The air conditioning was excellent, and there was a good TV selection. I was very happy with my stay.

The prices are great, and this Motel 6 is much better than the one across the street in Buttonwillow. I really like this location. The rooms are very clean, and the one I stayed in had no smoke smell at all. They've been converted to include a small stove and full-size refrigerator, though I liked the rooms before the conversion too. Highly recommend it if you need a place to stay in the area.
