Econo Lodge

The bed and room were clean and, aside from the lingering cigarette smell, the room was quite comfortable. The TV was small, but that didn't bother me for a one-night stay. The pillows were awful, like a pillowcase stuffed with cotton balls, and there was hardly anything for breakfast. The hotel looks a little run down and questionable. There were several nice vehicles in the lot, which made me less worried about leaving mine there overnight. The front desk staff were helpful and nice, and check-in and checkout were a breeze. Since the hotel allows smoking, I can't complain about the smell.

The mildew smell was strong, and I could see some on the walls. There was also an ammonia odor in the air and in the bedding. Roaches showed up too, and the door seal didn't go all the way around. Even the two-ply toilet paper wouldn't stay two-ply. The highway is right nearby, but the place feels so sketchy. Paint was peeling from the walls and ceiling, and the carpet baseboards were coming away from the wall. Those were the good problems. We barely slept. Leaving was the best part.

The owners were friendly, and the family is very nice. The rooms were nice, the area was well lit, and it's close to all the places to eat. I forgot my shoes while driving back to Dallas, and the owner was kind enough to go to USPS and send them back to me. I'd recommend anyone stay here.

The pool looked nothing like the photo and was disgusting, and there were drunk people everywhere, so I wouldn't bring a family here. Customer service was terrible. They didn't clean our room or give us extra towels, even though ours were dirty. There were bugs everywhere, the tub wasn't properly clean, the blow dryer didn't work, and they wouldn't give us ice. The beds were dirty and so uncomfortable I couldn't sleep, and they refused to give us extra pillows either. This place sucked all and all. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU WANT COMFORT!!!
