Days Inn

The website said dogs were allowed, and when I called to check that it was pet-friendly, the man said yes and even tried to take payment over the phone. I told him I was only 15 minutes away and wanted to pay in person. We arrived late at night, exhausted, and he was extremely rude. He insisted he had never said pets were allowed and that we couldn't stay with our dog. Then why try to charge me over the phone? Terrible experience.

I should've known this place was a mistake as soon as I walked into the lobby. It was hot and smelled of cigarettes. Our room was stifling too, and I had to run the window unit for about an hour before it felt comfortable. Don't most places keep rooms at a reasonable temperature? That seems like a good way to get mold, too. The bathroom was tiny and smelled awful. There was dried urine on the toilet seat, and the handicap chair took up almost the whole shower and had public hairs on it. I'd never skipped a shower before because a bathroom was so gross. The carpet must never have been steam cleaned, since my feet were completely black after a couple of hours. Wear socks, or better yet, don't go to the Days Inn in Cairo at all.

The parking lot was clean and felt safe.

That no-smoking room was supposed to be cleaned, but it had a Coke can being used as an ashtray. This motel needs an update, or it should close. Stay away.
