La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Calhoun South I-75

Traveling with two pets can get pricey, so the very affordable pet surcharge was a big plus for me. The rate was good for the quality and convenience, and my room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. I had an awesome stay at La Quinta Inn. It’s now on my list of places I’d return to when I need a clean, friendly, fairly priced stay with pets.

The bed was really comfortable, there were lots of pillows, and the room and well-stocked bathroom were very clean and smelled nice. The fridge didn’t keep our drinks cold, though I forgot to mention it to the front desk, and I wished the room area had more lighting. We got a first-floor room, which I was glad about, but being near the lobby meant more footsteps and doors shutting. Check-in was easy even without a reservation, and we got a good room for under $100 on a Friday. It’s close to restaurants. Breakfast was simple and good for on the go, I had a muffin and orange juice.

Getting here from the interstate was easy, and the room was nice and clean. The bed sat so high that we could barely climb into it, and a step stool would have helped. The tub also wasn’t comfortable to lean back in and relax.

I’ve stayed at several La Quintas, and this one didn’t measure up. The dog-friendly policy was the only good part. Our first room had water in the tub that had run onto the floor, no Kleenex in the box, and missing closet knobs. They moved us, but the replacement room had what looked like old leak residue all over the shelf under the sink. It didn’t seem to have been cleaned up. See pictures.
