Residence Inn by Marriott Lexington City Center

The kitchenette was nicely equipped, even with salt and pepper, and the suite had beautiful decor in a nice building. Staff were friendly, and it was a wonderful visit. The pillows weren't the most comfortable, but that was my only complaint.

The room itself was nice. Still, for an expensive property, there are four problems. First, this is a dog-friendly place, which felt like a kennel to me. I need cleanliness and don't want to sleep in a bed where Lassie slept with her owner the night before. The owner seems to put dogs ahead of people. Second, the internet was pathetic. The owner had the authentication set up wrong, so I had to lower some computer security to get access, which I really didn't want to do. Wi-Fi never worked, but I found a live Ethernet jack in the room, thanks for providing that. It was slow, but I could connect my router. Third, parking cost $22 a day in a garage where the public pays $17, which felt like a cash grab.

This was our third stay, and Lexington keeps wowing us too. From the friendly bellmen and valet to the corner room with its romantic view, it was a great experience. Manager Brian heard my husband had retired and that we were closing on a new home out of town, then sent us a kind note and generous celebration gifts. We were wowed from beginning to end.

The room was clean and comfortable, just as expected. But it was above an outdoor bar, and the noise until 2 a.m. was unbelievable. There was no way to sleep.
