Comfort Inn Lexington

I’ve stayed here twice. The room is a bit dated but clean, and the standard “Comfort chain” mattresses and pillows are dependable. My issue is the air conditioners. On both units, only the fan worked and there was no AC. I’m pretty sure they were installed when we were landing on the moon. Needless to say, it made sleeping less comfortable.

I booked here because it was available, and wasn’t disappointed. It seems like most people assume only one hotel in town is good and the others are disgusting, but this place was clean and well kept for what it is. Nothing flashy. Check-in was easy, and, most important to me, it was quiet. There’s guest laundry. I work nights and don’t usually eat hotel breakfasts, so I can’t comment on the food. The breakfast area is small but seemed clean. I really loved the fresh lemon water in the lobby. More hotels should offer fresh ice water. It’s nice to grab some before heading out or when coming in for the night. The hotel is just off the interstate, so the location is convenient. The pool was closed when I visited, and I wasn’t planning to use it. I heard management was debating whether to keep the pool or get a gym. Management, I really hope you keep the pool. Many travelers consider it, and it’s great for families with kids who want to swim. Most hotel gyms are small; I’m sure a treadmill and some weights could be added somewhere.

The room was okay, and breakfast had lots of options and was good. The pool and hot tub were supposed to be working, based on the reviews, but when we arrived we were told the pool was down for service. Nobody had told us before we got there. After a nine-hour trip, we’d been looking forward to using it. We booked three weeks ahead and would have chosen another hotel if we’d known. The TV didn’t work properly, and no one answered when we called the desk. A torn window screen flapped in the wind all night. At checkout, the two women at the front desk kept talking to each other and never asked how the stay went. Would I recommend this hotel? No.

In May 225, we stayed here on our trip to Colorado, and the location was exactly what we needed. We had one queen bed and one king, and I was pleasantly surprised there was a door between them. Everything was clean, and the warm cookie was a nice touch. The pool and hot tub were being renovated, so we couldn’t use them.
