Quality Inn & Suites Lexington

The staff are great, especially the woman who prepares breakfast in the morning. She's kind, helpful, and always has something nice to say if you start a conversation. Breakfast is consistently good, unless ice or snow from Mother Nature disrupts things. Then guests have to make a simple meal themselves in the kitchen area, with cereal, oatmeal, grits, yogurt, coffee, and juice.

We never spent the night, but I was charged and still haven't received a refund. I reserved late on 11/26/2025 because I needed to be near my dying mother at Lexington Medical Center. When we arrived, the property looked nothing like the photos and fell short of what I expected, so we asked to cancel and get our money back. We then had to find a decent hotel closer to my mother. Someone told me I qualified for a refund, and an agent filed a ticket, but I've been sent back and forth between the owner and other people. This has been a nightmare, and I intend to report the business.

Room 108 was worn-out and shabby, with repairs to the walls, ceiling, and shower left half done. The gap between the door and frame was so wide I could see my car outside. The towels were paper thin, and the walls barely blocked sound. We also had several questionable people hanging around the room, and the smell of marijuana never went away. When the ice machine was broken, the office simply said they were out of ice for the day. We picked this place for a weekend because of glowing reviews that I now suspect were made up, and because it was listed as part of Choice Hotels. The advertised free breakfast was just two shared cereal containers, a few slices of white bread, and an old waffle maker. Thankfully we only had to last two nights. I'd sleep in a tent before staying here again. Calling it a dump would be unfair to dumps.

We had no hot water or fridge, and the power kept cutting in and out during the day. The only phone was for calling the office. I asked for a partial refund, a discount, or possibly two extra nights to make up for the missing basics, but they refused because I'd booked through a third party. The desk woman said they'd been instructed to explain that the hot water wasn't the proper size, so you had to wait for the heater to recover before showering. That's not acceptable for paying guests. Would you pay for a room like that? I doubt it. This place needs to treat people better and run a better business. I disputed the full hotel charge and reported it to the BBB.
