Days Inn by Wyndham Panama City/Callaway

For my visit, I just needed a place to sleep and shower, and it worked. It's conveniently located near several restaurants, and check-in was easy. The hot water and pressure were great, and I didn't see any bugs. The beds were somewhere in the middle for comfort. The two evening employees were welcoming and nice. The rooms were mostly clean, though some areas could use a deep clean. There was only coffee from 6 to 9 a.m., no breakfast, and the vending machine was empty. The drink machine was stocked and cold, but ice in the ice machine was melting. The pool was closed, possibly because it was off-season. At checkout on my last day, the employee wouldn't allow late checkout, which I understand is a Diamond member benefit, though I needed to get up anyway. With my Wyndham employee discount, I paid about 40% of the usual rate, so the price was fine. It's not the area's best hotel, and I'd probably return only as a last option if my preferred places were unavailable or too expensive.

They advertised free breakfast, but all that was offered was cheap coffee and a yogurt. That's ridiculous. The room was mostly sort of clean, except for smelly socks and other stuff left in the sofa bed. The pool was a joke. I wouldn't recommend this motel at all. Stay away from anything Wyndham-related!

We gambled on the budget price and lost. After moving to another room on the first night, we immediately saw roaches there too, along with blood and other stains on the floor. If roaches appeal to you, this might be your place. Otherwise, look elsewhere. Zero out of five.

Being close to Tyndale AFB in Panama City is the one thing this place has going for it. Beyond that, it's a filthy slum, with roaches, peeling paint, and rotted wood.
