Days Inn by Wyndham Camarillo - Ventura

The room was in rough shape, with holes in the walls, broken bathroom tiles, a poorly painted sink, and moldy grout in the tub. The shower only worked if the sink water was running first, which was odd. Breakfast was just a tiny packaged muffin, and you had to ask for one at reception. It’s inexpensive, and you get what you pay for.

We were very disappointed. The bathroom sink was cracked and peeling, with what looked like old toothpaste in it, and the hot water faucet didn’t work. Priceline led us to expect breakfast, but all there was was a box of store-bought donuts and a coffee maker. There weren’t enough pillows, and when I asked for one more, I got an attitude and a lecture. The bathroom also had just two tiny complimentary shampoo bottles.

For an inexpensive night, this is a well-kept two-star hotel with everything you need and a few nice touches you might expect somewhere pricier. It’s great value for a pleasant stay. The freeway is right nearby, and there are good places within walking distance, including a big breakfast spot, a bagel place, and coffee.

The room is clean and nice, though the hotel seems older. It does look like some people may live in a few of the rooms. I’m only staying here Friday and Saturday night, so I’ll know more on Sunday ;)
