Inn Paradiso

The property itself is beautiful, intimate, comfortable, and relaxed. The rooms have thoughtful, eclectic design. But our Artist Studio bathroom had a beehive inside the walls. We could hear buzzing and feel vibrations during the day, and saw swarms in nearby trees. When I raised it with the property manager, he didn’t seem very concerned. He said the bees had to live somewhere and probably liked the lavender. I expected at least some concern, and would have appreciated a room change or discount, or a commitment to deal with it promptly. From that response, I’m not confident it’ll be addressed soon. There was plenty to like, but for a five-star hotel I also expected the pool to be skimmed daily. It’s refreshing on hot days, though I couldn’t relax in it as much while worrying one of those bees might land in the water and sting me.

You can tell a lot of care has gone into Inn Paradiso. The interior has a cozy, characterful feel, with original artwork and world artifacts chosen by someone with a curator’s eye. Outside, there are trees, flowers, a pool, a grassy field, and shaded spots where you can sit and enjoy the sun. It felt like a lovely, peaceful break from the world. We hope to come back soon.

The pool was such a good place to swim and lounge, and the bathroom was so cool I could’ve spent the whole trip in there. I also spent time watching birds under the big tree by the fountain, and I’m fairly sure I saw a female hooded oriole! The room was incredible, clean, and really comfortable. There were lots of small touches that made it feel like home, including a coffee maker, an electric kettle for tea, and very comfortable robes. The hosts were helpful and wonderful. Inn Paradiso has a lot of character and a relaxing feel, and I’d recommend it to anyone after a cozy, luxurious getaway. Thanks to the hosts and staff!

The bedding was gorgeous, and the vintage art and furniture throughout the place have clearly been chosen with care. They’re collected from around the world, not just things from Grandma’s house. Steve has a great eye for design, and you can see it in all the details. If you want somewhere with less of a hotel feel and a bit of Paso’s charm, this is the spot. Thanks for being such a great host, Steve. I’ll stay with you again next time I’m in Paso! Allison
