Josh and Drew are amazing, and there was no drama with the bar next door. It's a peaceful family run hotel, a nice place to relax, unwind, and reset your mind. The bed was very comfy, with amazing mountain and wildlife views, and the hot water never ran out. The water's fine to drink, I ain't dead yet 🤣🤣🤣. Gonna miss that place 😏

Our stay was just okay. The room was spacious and decently clean, but more basic than I expected for the price. There was a drip coffee maker but no coffee or filters, and no hair products or dryer. The room was over 80F according to my husband's watch, even though the thermostat was off, and it was hard to sleep and stay hydrated. When I raised the temperature with the owner, Rich, he told me to open the window. He seemed nice enough, but didn't seem to care much about how hot the room was. The walls are incredibly thin, so the neighbor's TV made it hard to fall asleep, and we felt guilty getting up and ready around 6 AM on the weekend. It's all right if you just need a bed and bathroom and can handle some cigarette smoke smell, but I'm reluctant to come back.

The owner is really kind, and the staff are friendly, personable, and very adaptable. I often worry about how understanding hotel or motel staff will be with kids, but I have no complaints so far. My kids have even enjoyed chatting with the owner now and then. A friend recommended this place, and I'll pass it on to another friend. Spacious, comfortable, and kid friendly is a rare combination in a place to stay. We'll use it again if we need to!

I needed somewhere to stay for a while back in November 2018 while I searched for a new apartment, and this place worked out really well. The rooms were cozy, clean, and comfortable, like being in your own home. Staff were consistently polite and helpful. It’s also a great base for getting out and enjoying what Jeffersonville has to offer, including the famous Smugglers Notch Resort.

Rich, the owner, was a highlight for us. He’s one of the nicest people I’ve met, and clearly enjoys meeting guests, swapping stories, and talking with them. That personal touch made our stay even better. My friends and I have been to Deer Run twice now, and the second visit topped the first, so I’m hoping that keeps up. Everyone welcomed us warmly and seemed to really care about how our stay was going. It’s affordable and worth every penny. I’ve never been treated this well at a place to stay, and I don’t think it was a one-off. We’ll be back and are already looking forward to it.
