Holiday Inn Express & Suites Cambridge by IHG

The fall colors were amazing, and Cambridge downtown is very close for a cute downtown vibe and the Dickens experience. The hotel is also close to the highway. Staff were so friendly and helpful, especially the breakfast lady Birdgit. She was super friendly and helpful! I love the new coffee machine, and there’s coffee and hot water 24 hours a day. The hot breakfast has good options, and there are grab-and-go choices too. Loved having a mini bar with a microwave and mini fridge.

The lobby looked nice, but the room was just nasty. There were big black stains on the carpet, which had all kinds of rolls in it, and someone had wrapped a shower curtain around the smoke alarm. We had to keep our shoes on in the room. Glad we only had to sleep there for one night.

The room was wonderful, and the check-in staff were friendly. I also liked the hot tub, the better-than-usual selection of equipment in the fitness area, and little touches like lobby cookies. Breakfast had loads of choices, from juice, milk, and pastries to hot food, including French toast sticks. It was still fresh and well stocked even for the late breakfast crowd. One small drawback: charging devices meant using a wall plug, since there weren't any USB-to-cord options.

My experience at the Cambridge location was frustrating and unacceptable, especially because a male employee there acted unprofessionally. The two properties, in Cambridge and Zanesville, have the same management company, but the booking rules seem to be applied differently. Zanesville allows stays of 30 days or more. Yesterday I was told Cambridge would book me for 30 days, but now I'm being told this location only permits bookings in 7-day blocks. It feels unprofessional and like they choose which policies to enforce.
