Lamplighter Resort

We spent five days and four nights here with family ranging in age from 12 to 78, and everyone had a wonderful time. The place has an old nostalgic feel, right on the water, and the staff were attentive and amazing. Our clean, comfortable cabin had queen beds that were very comfortable to sleep in. We cooked on the BBQ grill, swam, relaxed on the swim dock, rented the XL Triton boat, made smores at the firepit overlooking the lake, and fished from the different boat docks around the property. It’s a great choice for a fun, relaxing vacation across generations. Highly recommend!

Our cabin was right by the water, with a back patio for taking in the view, and it fit four of us just right. Lamplighter Resort is a cute, affordable find at the Lake of the Ozarks, and it’s only a short drive to The Cave Bar, the pool and bar in a cave. There’s lots to do around the grounds, including a basketball hoop, inground pool, bonfire spot, and playground. A good place to look at if you want a family-friendly stay near the Lake of the Ozarks.

The sleeping setup was a bit more rustic than I expected. The beds aren’t uncomfortable, but they’re loud and squeaky, and there’s no AC in the bedrooms, so you have to sleep with the doors open. I’d bring a box fan or two to push the cool air in. Still, I was very happy with the stay, especially the great pool and the lake access and view. The Cave Bar across the highway is awesome.

We came to get together with family for a small weekend, but this would also be a great place to spend a week fishing. The boat slips and launch are easy to access, and being right on the lake was the best part. The owners and staff were awesome, and their dog DJ was the best. We’ll definitely be back!
