Days Inn by Wyndham Cameron

Everyone I met who worked there was wonderful. The room itself was clean, but food had been left in the refrigerator, so I had to clean it out before putting our food in. There was no bathroom light, smoke detector, or exhaust fan, and the room smelled very strongly of smoke. Those issues are why I rated the stay four stars and the room three.

The room was disgusting from the moment we checked in. I had to get rags and cleaner from the front desk and clean it myself. The fridge was full of filthy food water, the microwave and nightstand had food on them, and there was hair, grime, and nasty stains all over the shower and curtain. There was clear mold in multiple places and a mildew smell. The A/C leaked so badly the floor by the window was soaking, and it made a VERY loud noise all night. The sink was wet underneath, and the toilet was clogged when we arrived. Our bed had a big gross stain on the side and was held up by literal bricks, yes, BRICKS. The towel rack came off the door, and a nail stabbed my foot. I might need a tetanus shot after staying here. We had no choice but to stay, but we didn’t even sleep under the covers. I’d give zero stars. We requested a refund, and the manager Alicen threw a fit, took no responsibility, and was the rudest person I’ve ever dealt with. This place is a literal health hazard.

I left some earrings in my room and called when I realized. The manager took care of it right away and returned them at no cost. The staff were super great and attentive. We need more businesses that give guests this kind of personal attention.

The bathroom was in awful shape, with a crumbling wall, peeling paint, and a door that wouldn’t close all the way. The sink backed up, and the mattresses felt like they’d been collected from the trash. You sank into them because the springs were worn out. The indoor pool was closed because the roof was starting to collapse. At breakfast, the sausage patties were still frozen, and the scrambled eggs didn’t even look like eggs. I saw crystals on the fake eggs and wondered if they might be laced with drugs or something. It was disgusting. Would you rent out a room with a bathroom like this? I don’t recommend this place to anyone now or in the future unless they want to get sick. It isn’t safe, and the town should condemn the building.
