Hampton Inn & Suites Camp Springs/Andrews AFB

The General Manager’s customer service on the phone this morning was disgraceful. His tone was disturbing, and he acted like I was a nuisance. He’s paid to do this job, and he did it terribly. I called a hotel, not a prison. He refused to give me his name, but I recorded the calls and plan to send them to corporate. If answering questions upsets him, he’s in the wrong profession. I don’t know how he became GM, but after I finish calling Go Hilton as he told me to, we’ll see how pleasant he is then. Even a bad day isn’t an excuse to take it out on a caller. He should never answer a phone again, and I don’t think he should run a hotel or anything else. He’s a disgrace to the Hilton name and needs to be corrected immediately.

The rooms were okay, and the front desk man was very nice and accommodating. But the breakfast cook put furniture polish out instead of spray butter, then sprayed it on the waffle maker even after being told not to. We reported it, and she later removed the waffle maker. Now I wonder what else she cooked with furniture polish in the kitchen.

Breakfast was a highlight. The food was fresh and not dry or overcooked: great scrambled eggs, soft pancakes, perfectly cooked oatmeal, and fresh fruit. I even took some fruit for the drive back to Charleston. I stayed November 6-8 at Hampton Inn & Suites in Camp Springs, in Suite 215. The suite was exceptionally clean and welcoming, and the mattresses had just the right medium firmness. The pillows were the best I’ve ever slept on, soft but supportive for my head, neck, and lower body. The second floor was quiet, with no loud music, hollering, or cussing, and I felt safe inside the hotel and around it. For entry, I could use either the card key from the front desk or the Hilton App on my phone. This is a clean, comfortable, well-managed hotel, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Camp Springs. Lillie Willis (mother) and Dwayne Willis (my son).

The pool was closed, which was disappointing, though the website had disclosed that. Otherwise the room was a fair size and had all the amenities we needed. The hotel was clean and well maintained, with a good location near places to eat. The lot was well lit at night, the staff were pleasant enough, and breakfast was a decent, typical hotel spread.
