Holiday Inn Express Campbellsville by IHG

There was a weird smell in the room when I checked in, and the Wi-Fi didn’t work for my entire two-week stay. Room service kept knocking even though the do not disturb sign was on the door, and telling me to leave the room after I’d said it was occupied for the day. That was weird. Respect your customers’ privacy and act professionally. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The rooms were clean, though they need updating. The staff were friendly and attentive, and there’s plenty of parking with easy access. It’s close to the college and the commercial part of town. I’d say this is the best place to stay in town.

The room was a decent size, clean and really comfortable. The person at the front desk was as pleasant as anyone I’ve ever met, though I didn’t catch her name.

The breakfast bar was a nice surprise, and the kids enjoyed it a lot. The front desk employees seemed pleasant, and the beds and bedding were comfortable. The room stayed nice and cool, and I felt comfortable there. It was mostly clean, good enough for me, though not spotless. I never saw any bugs. The pool was a letdown. It looked greenish and smelled strange, nothing like the online pictures, so we didn’t feel okay letting the kids swim. They were disappointed. The room smelled strongly of a musty chemical odor that gave me a headache after a while, and the hallways smelled old and musty too. We were on the second floor, and our view was just the roof of the swimming pool building. You couldn’t see past it, so if you want a particular view, you may need to ask ahead. My husband picked this hotel for its decent reviews and the pool. I’m not sure if they were treating the pool or whether we just got an unusually smelly room. I don’t think I’d stay again. The nice staff and comfortable beds were good, but for us they didn’t make up for the pool and the smell.
