Best Western Oasis Inn

I used to really like this hotel, but the room didn’t feel worth the price this time. They no longer have coffee pots, and the bed was uncomfortable with only sheets instead of a blanket or comforter. My room wasn’t cleaned, so I had to ask for towels. The fridge was turned all the way down and froze my sodas and coffee creamer. The price hasn’t come down even though fewer services are offered.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was decent. The main problems were cleanliness and noise: the sheets didn’t seem very clean, and the towels were stained, smelled stale, and were pretty disgusting. Trains passing nearby overnight can also be noisy. A few small improvements could make this a more popular place to stay.

The breakfast was okay, about what you’d expect from a BW continental breakfast, and the staff were friendly. My room, though, hadn’t been turned over very well. The beds were left messy, the alarm clock was broken, and the fridge and microwave had been pulled into the middle of the hall and unplugged. The AC wasn’t working right either, though it luckily wasn’t too hot outside.

I liked that the room stayed dark in the morning, so I didn’t wake with the sun, and the AC worked well. It was very clean, with maid service every other day. Breakfast came with the stay and was a full spread. I didn’t notice a waffle maker, but everything I tried tasted good. A great place to stay while visiting Canadian Texas.
