Days Inn Asheville West

For $138 for one night, I expected a lot better. The shower had mold on it and the bed skirt was moldy too. When we turned on the water, mud came out, and the toilet wouldn’t flush with toilet paper, so we had to throw it in the trash. The room looked old and disgusting, as if it hadn’t been used in a long time. At checkout, I reported the mold and got offered an “oops card” for 35% off a future stay at the locations listed on it. That was ridiculous. I won’t stay at this Days Inn again, or at any Days Inn.

Our anniversary was ruined by how poorly things were handled. The lock stopped working, and we were left outside for more than 20 minutes, then lectured about our room keys even though the keys weren’t the problem. Staff also charged an extra deposit and kept part of it for no reason. When we asked for extra pillows and towels, they refused and said, “you dont need them.” Shameful service. We won’t return to this place or any affiliate.

I was staying here through FEMA TSA housing after surviving Hurricane Helene, and I was grateful to have a bed and bathroom. The staff were polite and respectful, and they do try to keep drug users out of the hotel. I did see an occasional cockroach, possibly brought in by someone with bugs in their belongings. At the southern supper, Laura, the woman cooking, seems to cook as if she were in a nursing home. When service is happening, she runs around like a chicken with its head cut off. People sometimes come into the dining room, see no one behind the counter, look around for a few seconds, and leave. I’ve also heard Laura talk about truckers parking in the hotel lot and going to the nearby KOA campground to rent a cabin.

A clean, comfortable place to sleep while traveling. The rooms feel modern and everything worked as it should. The staff were welcoming and cool. 10 out of 10, thanks.
