Tolovana Inn

We’ve stayed in Cannon Beach a number of times over the years, and the Tolovana Inn has been our favorite location by far. It’s in a less crowded area, has better beachfront access, and there’s a grocery store right across the way. A great spot for the Cannon Beach experience without the heavy crowds. Everything was smooth and welcoming, from setting up the reservation through our late check-in. The staff were outstanding, warm, helpful, and professional. We’ll absolutely be back.

The room stayed hot the whole time, even with the window open and the heat off. We were on the second floor with no view. I asked for another box fan, and the late-shift lobby staff brought one right over, so quickly. Having two fans helped a lot. That’s why I’d have given five stars otherwise. For a spontaneous night in Cannon Beach, it was a really fun stay and great value for a couple. We were in Room 261. The pool felt refreshing, the hot tub was relaxing, and the sauna was hot. We enjoyed the easy beach access and walking nearby for food and drinks. There’s plenty for kids to do, too: the pool, bunnies just outside, the beach, and a playground near the parking lot that looked fun. We saw lots of bunnies! Haystack rock is just a few minutes up the street by car.

What made it worth it for us was being right on the beach and hearing the waves all night with the sliding door open. It’s a budget hotel with no frills, basically a place to sleep with a great view, so it may not suit you if you’re a snob. We had an oceanfront view in the right room. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook, the place was clean, and even with the Murphy bed we slept great. We’d definitely stay again. There were bunnies everywhere, plus a fantastic market right across the street and Mo's Restaurant next door. Get oyster shooters and a Bloody Mary, you won’t regret it.

The location was easy to find and really nice, with lots of good places to eat nearby. The room was wonderful for the price, and the staff were very accommodating. We can’t wait to return and stay again soon.
