For the area, this felt like a reasonably priced, budget-friendly option, and the location is quite nice. I was only there one night with my dog, arriving in the evening and leaving early, so I mostly just needed a place to sleep. The room had an unpleasant smell. The TV setup was odd, too: to watch it I had to sit in a chair, since it wasn’t comfortable to view from the bed. It worked fine for listening to music. For a single night, these things were manageable, and the hotel did the job.

The fireplace in our room made it especially cozy, and being able to hear the waves was such a delight. The pool and hot tub were great, too. This is a charming, darling hotel with lovely views and excellent beach access. I’d gladly book it again and highly recommend it!

We stayed in the one-bedroom suite on the third floor, which was warm, clean, inviting, and very comfortable. The view was great, and having a full kitchen and full-size fridge suited our needs perfectly. David was friendly and very helpful in getting us the best room with the best view available.

The walls are thin, so you can hear next-door guests talking, and if you’re below the third floor you’ll hear people above you. Noise is the only real downside I found, though I’ve never stayed at a truly quiet hotel, haha. It may matter if you’re especially sensitive to sound. Otherwise, Wayside Inn worked really well for us. The ocean views are pretty good, and with the balcony door open you can hear the water. The beach is about a two-minute walk, and there are food options nearby on foot, with more within about a 10-minute drive. Parking was plentiful, and our room had a microwave, mini fridge, and good-sized TV. They use real room keys instead of cards, which is kind of fun. And don’t miss the chocolate chip cookies in the lobby! They’re very dog friendly and make dog parents feel welcome, not like a burden. There was a little basket in our room with towels, a water bowl, and a treat. They also have lobby treats, dog towels outside to clean off after the beach, and waste bags onsite. I’d stay here again if I were in the area.

We had a relaxing family trip and will definitely return. The kids had a great time in the pool and hot tub, and it was easy to walk to the beach and explore Haystack Rock. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. It rained off and on, but we enjoyed watching the storms from our room.
