Best Western Canon City

The master bedroom was spacious and had a private jacuzzi, and the prices were reasonable. The room was beautifully decorated for my wife’s birthday, which was a wonderful surprise. We had excellent service and a great stay, with a lovely setting for a romantic, relaxing night.

We only stayed one night while passing through, and I wouldn’t want to stay longer. The beds were okay, but there were no working outlets by the bed, and the AC ran all night without ever cooling the room. At least it was clean.

I accidentally booked a room for myself and a pet even though I wasn’t traveling with one. At check-in, the front desk said he often hears complaints about smells in the rooms that accept pets. Sure enough, my room smelled strongly enough to bother me, but when I called, he moved me without a problem. I’m sensitive to noise, and the other guests were quiet and respectful. What kept bothering me was the toilet tank running whenever anyone in the building flushed, loud enough to hear even with the bathroom door shut. The wifi kept cutting out, which also interrupted the TV. I tried the business center because I needed to print something for a morning meeting, but the computers were slow, the connection was poor, and the printer didn’t work. It’s not a deal breaker for me, but it was no help in a pinch. The tub itself smelled clean, but on the morning I checked out I spotted hair on the shower wall left by whoever shaved there before me. The other issues had been mild annoyances, but that made me feel the rooms were being cleaned half-heartedly and left a bad impression of the whole hotel. You get what you pay for, I guess, and a good deal can mean lower quality. I won’t book here again.

We travel up and down the Highway 50 corridor often as corporate representatives, and we’ll tell our employees about this Best Western at our annual meeting. We think it deserves a 4-star rating based on the service we received, and we’ll tell everyone to ask for Krystal. She managed our check-in and was professional, helpful, attentive to the details we needed, and one of the nicest people we met on the trip. Our room was comfortable, clean, and just what we asked for (Kyrsti). The food was excellent, too.
