Knights Inn Canton

The room was filthy, and the fridge and microwave didn't work. The manager told me my fiancé couldn't stand quietly by my car outside to smoke. I explained that we were in a non-smoking room and he was following the rules. Red Roof Inn nearby couldn't get my reservation because its computer system was down, so I tried Knights Inn. Never again, and I wouldn't recommend this place.

We were kicked out because we had a dog, even though at least five other rooms had pets. We were in a smoking room, but they tried to blame us for burn holes in the carpet. We never smoked in there, apart from using a vape.

For the low price, it was a good stay. The bed was clean, and the shower was basic but clean, with fresh towels. I didn't use the top cover, as I never do. Rooms have fridges, microwaves, and flat-screen TVs, though the wallpaper, carpet, curtains, and furniture could all use updating. I smoke, so I liked having a smoking option. I do wish breakfast were included.

I eventually moved to Quality Inn, where the staff are friendly, the rooms are clean, breakfast is included, and there's laundry and an ice machine. They welcomed my cat and accepted her papers. She's happy there, and so am I. I wish I'd avoided Knights Inn in Canton from the start. At Knights Inn, Barry the manager was rude and inconsiderate. I showed him my emotional support animal papers for my cat, which said hotels and motels were included and that she could stay without a fee. He refused to let me stay and called the Humane Society on 62, which took my cat from the hotel room. I had to ride three city buses to get her back. My disability support person visited and noticed there was no smoke detector on the wall; she called the office to ask them to install one. The place was run down and the room was disgusting. I had to clean it myself, including under the bed, where it looked like it hadn't been swept in years. In room 104, young teenagers banged on the walls all night, and several rooms complained before the sheriff was called. I was told there had been a fire there a year ago, when a man shot and killed his young son. The office staff were rude too. Some of the housekeepers were the only good part. I was always polite during my stay, and the morning housekeeper, who worked alone, told me I was the quietest person there. I always spoke kindly and wished her well. Don't go to this Knights Inn in Canton. It may be cheap, but that's what you get.
