I booked eight nights at Wingate by Wyndham Canton/Hall of Fame through Hotels.com, but the room had an open ceiling access panel with insulation and structural components exposed. There was debris on the floor, including material that appeared contaminated. The condition suggested possible rodent activity, which raised serious concerns for sanitation, airborne contaminants, and biohazard exposure. Interior surfaces and bathroom fixtures were visibly damaged as well, suggesting poor maintenance and inspection. These conditions raise legitimate concerns about habitability, safe and sanitary premises, possible local health and building code violations, negligent maintenance and oversight, and misleading online advertising that does not reflect the actual property. As a paying guest, I expect basic cleanliness, safety, and habitability. Exposed ceiling infrastructure and suspected rodent contamination pose a foreseeable health risk, including allergens, pathogens, and structural hazards. The front desk also refused to help appropriately and told me to find my own luggage cart. Hotels.com customer service initially declined to assist through chat, and only escalated the issue after I called and provided photographic evidence. Both the property and booking platform failed to provide accommodations consistent with what was represented when I booked. I'm requesting an immediate resolution, including a full refund for unused nights and reimbursement for relocation expenses. I'm also considering formal complaints to the Stark County Health Department, the Ohio Department of Commerce, the Ohio Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Section, and Wyndham Corporate Guest Relations. Travelers should use extreme caution before booking this property.
