ICONA Cape May

The service really made this stay for my family and me last summer. We had a problem, and management sorted it out after I called, even crediting us for the inconvenience. Beach gear was included, so we didn't need to bring chairs, umbrellas, or towels, and there was Wi-Fi. Our room was nice, with a microwave and small fridge. The room was small, though we knew that going in. I also wish there were more things within an easy walk, especially since the heat made walking difficult. There's no restaurant in the hotel either. Knowing those limits ahead of time, it felt like a fair rental for the price.

The beach views and charming feel were lovely, and the rooms were clean. Parking on site is limited, so street parking may be needed, and some spots have a meter fee. Most of the staff were kind and professional, though a few seemed rather flat and not especially warm.

The customer service was incredible all weekend. When our AC was loud, they quickly replaced it with a new, quiet one, and staff kept popping up to help with things. They also brought chairs and an umbrella to the beach, and check-in was easy with a funny, accommodating team. The room was immaculate. They even made little roses at the end of the toilet paper. We had a chic weekend from Friday to Sunday, and all those thoughtful touches made the place feel welcoming. I'd stay here in Cape May again.

We were there with family and had several rooms, all of them nice. The rooms are updated, the bathrooms were good, and the location is decent, right across from the beach. Staff were friendly and we enjoyed our stay. I can see it as a three-star hotel, though I'm not sure why Google rates it two stars. Plan for waits when getting beach chairs and an umbrella, or using the shuttle. We waited about an hour for the beach setup and around 25 minutes for the shuttle. The staff did a lovely job, but there were lots of people and not enough workers for the volume. Also, the amenity fee is steep if you book through a third party.
