Franklin Inn

We had no complaints. The room was clean and roomy, with no bad smells or overpowering air fresheners. It came with a microwave, fridge, and coffee maker. A real gem if you're on a budget, whether you're just passing through or staying longer. Very glad we chose this hotel.

After driving nine hours, we just needed somewhere to rest, but Room 13 smelled strongly of seafood. The smell got onto our clothes, and we couldn't sleep. We had to use our own blankets, one pillowcase was dirty, and there wasn't a trash can in the bathroom. I told the woman at the front desk how bad it was. She said she'd reported it to the owners, but nothing changed. She was very nice and gave me a can of spray, though it didn't help at all. She also said the room was supposed to be under maintenance, so I don't understand why guests were put in it. It's a beautiful place, but this was a really bad experience. I hope they take care of these issues.

The room itself was dirty and damp, smelled awful, had a mini fridge leaking onto the floor, a bathroom that barely worked, and beds that didn't look clean. I wouldn't have considered using it for family who were coming into town to grieve with us. I had booked two nights just after hearing my dad had died, but once I arrived, I needed to stay with family instead. I never used the room. I went to the front desk in person to ask if they could refund at least the second night, but the receptionist said there was nothing they could do. I had booked through a third party, and Expedia had told me to contact the hotel. The staff were rude and unhelpful when I did. I took the key to look at the room in case someone needed an extra bed, but after seeing it, that was out of the question. I'd suggest looking for somewhere else in the area.

The host was so gracious, and I loved the soft blue walls. Our room was clean and peaceful, and the beds, sheets, and pillows were all soft and comfortable. It's pet friendly and has a military discount, too. We paid $90.00 for a king bed, which felt right. I'd stay again.
