Springhill Suites by Marriott Carle Place Garden City

I was in town for a procedure and chose this place because it was near the hospital. The evening front desk staff member was very friendly. I was exhausted after a long day and just wanted to get ready for the procedure and sleep, so I managed to stop the running toilet by adjusting the chain in the tank. There were other problems in the room: the light switch by the desk flickered on and off, and the desk partition rattled when I walked past. I mentioned the rattling to the morning front desk staff when I checked out, but the response was basically, “Thanks for the information,” as if it didn’t matter. I don’t understand why housekeeping wouldn’t report issues like that. The place was clean and the bed was comfortable, and it did the job. Still, at that price, I might have spent the $200 on a round-trip Uber instead.

Breakfast was the biggest letdown. Bagels, juice and eggs kept running out. The beds were extremely uncomfortable, although the rooms themselves were acceptable. This was the priciest hotel of my trip, with holiday rates much higher, so I expected great service at the desk, in the room and at meals. It fell short across the board, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

We reserved a block of 25 rooms for two nights, and our guests had a great experience. The rooms were very good, and the sales director was knowledgeable and helpful. The front desk process could have gone more smoothly.

The room was perfect, the area felt safe, and breakfast was fresh. The staff were really friendly and even offered a crib for the baby. We had a great stay and will be back.
