Breakfast was made to order and delicious, and we'd love to come back. The Smith Steiner home really impressed us. It's beautifully designed, and the owners didn't miss a detail. It's across the street from Dickenson Law School, with plenty of restaurants within walking distance.

The Smith Steiner is a beautiful place, and the suite with the fireplace was absolutely worth the money. Everything from the linens and lights to the hardware and bathing products was first rate. Breakfast was well done and comfortable. I liked their paint color enough to borrow it for a room at home. I'm even planning to send my son to Dickinson so I can stay here often. That's my endorsement. Glad I chose this over a hotel.

The best part was the magnificent service, and I nearly missed meeting Dolly and her baby brother Raymond, the pups who live in the back. The breakfasts were delicious, nutritious, and really decadent too. The location worked perfectly for visiting friends associated with the law school, and the place was also great for remote work. The rooftop patio is divine, the wifi is great, and the coffee machine grinds the beans when you request a cup.

I wish The Smith Steiner had been here when I was at Dickinson. My family made so many trips to Carlisle, and they would’ve loved staying here. This visit was lovely: a beautiful room, a modern, stylish bathroom, and a great evening on the terrace with friends. The hosts were the best part. Red Devils and future Red Devil families, book this place for parents’ weekends, homecoming, or graduation.

Becky and Boyd made us feel welcome, and the fire pit, steam shower, and fridge full of cold drinks were perfect after a day in the woods. The Smith Steiner Bed and Breakfast is a beautifully restored place across from Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA. It’s also a great base for getting out to the Cumberland Valley’s state parks and forests. We’ll be back to explore more of the nearby biking, hiking, and kayaking.
