Seashore on the Sand

The Seahore on the Sand condo's won us over, with balconies right above the sand and views out to the ocean. The accommodations are first class, and the on-site management is attentive and great. I first came to Carlsbad, California in the 70s, bringing my oldest son to the Army Navy summer academy there. That’s when we discovered and fell for this quaint coastal town, with its village shops and range of places to eat. We tried different places to stay at first, but this is where we settled. If you visit this Southern California beach town, you won’t do better than staying here.

The view and location were top-notch, and the staff were friendly. We stayed one night in 101, a clean, well-stocked studio. The only trouble was the fan lights: to turn them off, we had to turn off the fans too. That left us choosing between light and comfort or darkness and stuffiness. We picked the latter, and with no AC in the unit, sleep wasn’t very comfortable.

It’s hard to leave after a stay here. We’ve vacationed here for years, drawn by the clean, beautiful beach and oceanfront location. So many restaurants and shops are within walking distance. The units are spacious and clean, and the staff are friendly and easy to reach when we need something. Beach towels, umbrellas, and chairs are provided. I’d stay forever if I could.

Being right on the beach made the stay special, and the beach access was amazing. The place was quiet and the staff were great. A few more things in the kitchen and some more comfortable living room furniture would help.
