Motel 6 Lafayette, IN

There were no towels or washcloths in the room, and the bathroom was filthy. I had to buy Lysol wipes before I could even put my things down. They turned brown as I wiped everything. There was a dead cockroach in the refrigerator, too. The beds make a loud booming sound whenever you lie down, loud enough for nearby rooms to hear. When we raised the missing towels with the front desk, she said they didn’t have enough for everyone and guests usually have to ask. That should be made clear at check-in. Dusty, crusty, musty, and filthy bathrooms. I’ll never stay here again and wouldn’t recommend it.

We’ve stayed here a few times, despite people warning us about dirty rooms, rude staff, and money being taken. Our experience has been very different. The rooms have been nice and quiet, with comfortable beds, a refrigerator, microwave, desk, and a good TV. The wood floors and renovated bathrooms are nice, and there’s plenty of hot water. It’s pet friendly, the grass is kept clean, and we’ve felt welcome, almost like family. The front desk women have been kind, and when they mistakenly gave us the wrong room, they apologized and fixed it. Staff listen to concerns without being rude. One woman had a long, sweet conversation with us and wished us a good stay. They also made sure we weren’t too far from the stairs when we had things to carry up, and let one guest wait out a storm after checkout. They’ve never taken unnecessary money from us or kept our deposit. Sorry to see the bad reviews and claims about them, because they don’t match what we’ve experienced. I’d recommend staying, and we’ll be back.

The service is great, and so is the price. Everyone is pleasant, and the housekeepers do a wonderful job, working hard in sun or rain. I enjoy staying at Motel 6/studio 6!

This place is dirty and overpriced, and I’d give it zero stars if I could. The front desk woman said we couldn’t put sheets on the floor, then took my deposit because the sheets got dirty on the floor. But the floor was already dirty because the rooms weren’t cleaned properly, and the sheets wouldn’t stay on the bed anyway. The mattress itself was stained, which was disgusting. The front desk was rude, and homeless people were going up and down the walkways. They don’t clean well, then take money from people’s deposits over it. Disgusting.
