Home2 Suites by Hilton Parc Lafayette

The room was kept in good shape, with a comfortable bed and steady, quiet AC. There are lots of amenities, the front desk staff are friendly and professional, and room service comes every other day. Breakfast is served each morning, while snacks cost about four times what you'd pay at an average convenience store. The kitchenette has a mid-size fridge and a full-size dishwasher, though only a microwave and no stovetop, so a longer stay is doable but cooking is limited. There's plenty of parking and several places to eat a short drive away or a brisk walk away, though traffic is heavy. Soap, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner are provided. I'd come back.

The rooms are a little worn, with stains on the carpet and chairs, but the bed was comfortable, the kitchenette worked fine, and the bathroom was clean. The manager, who was very friendly, said a major renovation is coming up. Outside, there's a large sparkling pool, though not many people seemed to be using it during the warm fall weather. The location is great for walking, with shopping and dining right nearby and Fresh Market across the street. Staff were friendly, and breakfast was better than at many hotels.

The room itself was roomy and comfortable, in keeping with the Home2 standard, and the shopping center felt safe and upscale. I was glad to see a police vehicle providing security at night. The cleaning could have been much more thorough: there were carpet stains, hair left on the tables and in the bathroom, and the sink drained poorly. Breakfast has been subpar at other Home2 locations I've visited, and this one was no exception.

The way Tammy, the head of housekeeping, looked after my family and me made this a much better hotel stay than any I've had before. She and Ms Deborah always seemed to know what we needed before we had to ask, checking in by phone or text. Tammy went out of her way to make us feel at home. Home 2 suites by Hilton needs to give Tammy and Ms Deborah a raise. Go stay with Hilton, they make you feel at home.
