The Gaard House sits right among the area's wineries and tasting rooms, and we spent both nights playing pool. There’s a guest refrigerator in the laundry room, which was handy for the beer we’d bought before arriving. We also enjoyed the cozy screening room and its comfy recliners. A friendly cat was a bonus. The hosts were welcoming and helpful. After I asked for winery, tasting room, and restaurant recommendations, they sent a list in less than two days. The rooms were quiet and comfortable, and breakfast was fantastic. Weather permitting, the dining room has a gorgeous view, and a long gravel driveway nearby made for a nice morning walk. We booked two nights as the bookends to my 60th birthday, and they really wanted us to enjoy our stay. We did.

We stayed one night as a group of four and immediately wished we had more time. The Gaard House was spacious and gorgeous inside, with spectacular views outside. Amy and Shawn were friendly and kind, and Shawn’s breakfast was a favorite. We’d happily recommend the place and are planning to return.

We spent the weekend here with our baby, and Amy and Shawn made us feel very welcome and accommodated our needs. The breakfast was our favorite part, and we also enjoyed the patio overlooking the land and the pickleball court. We can’t wait to come back, and I’d recommend the Gaard House to anyone.

Breakfast was next level. Shawn is a fantastic cook and uses local ingredients. My wife and I came for a wedding at a winery this past weekend, and we’re so glad we found The Gaard House. Shawn and Amy were wonderful hosts, and the whole place felt relaxing and hospitable, with a real sense of hygge, to use the scandic. The location is quiet and natural, with amazing views. Our room was clean and well furnished, and the house has several amenities. We definitely plan to return and stay longer.

We had delicious, unhurried breakfasts, and Shawn and Amy were great hosts with plenty of information about the area and beyond. Sitting on the patio above wine country and listening to the birds was beautiful. If we make it back to Carlton, we’d plan to stay here again.
