Best Western Plus Carpinteria Inn

The staff were friendly and quick to help when an alarm started going off in the room next door in the middle of the night. They moved us to another room. The rooms are comfortable, if fairly simple, and the place has a nice atmosphere. There isn't a free breakfast, but I enjoyed an English muffin and oatmeal. A good place to stay in this quiet little town.

We were able to walk a few blocks to a square with breweries and food after the hotel grill had closed. It's a cute, walkable area. The first trip with our baby felt easy here, and it made a lovely stop on our way to Monterey. The room was clean and comfortable, and the lighting outside at night made the hotel feel welcoming. Mario checked us in quickly and discreetly pointed my husband to the key envelope when he asked for the room number, which I appreciated with our infant daughter along. Later, when we'd forgotten toothpaste, he helped us out with a spare supply and was kind about it. Really lovely location and service.

The lack of any breakfast, even a grab-and-go option, kept this from being a five-star stay for me. Most Best Westerns have something, so that was disappointing. They did offer water at check-in, which I appreciated. Otherwise, the place was quiet, very clean, and modern, and the front desk service was great. I also liked being able to use the gym later at night. It felt almost like a five-star hotel for a Best Western.

Sarah and Mario at the front desk were both warm and helpful, and greeted me with smiles. The room was clean and the whole hotel looked well cared for. I stayed two nights and would definitely return.
