The location is convenient, with stores nearby, parking, and a car pass. I booked a few days ahead and landed at LAX around 8 a.m. I’d been told to call that day to see if an early check-in before 3 was possible for a fee, but no room was available. That was okay, I understood. What made the stay difficult was the staff. The three women working there were rude, slammed doors, and seemed offended when asked questions. After my first night, I asked for clean towels and the trash to be taken out during my six-day stay. One woman rolled her eyes in front of the front desk man. When I spoke to her in Spanish, she changed her attitude, surprised I could speak it. The next day another housekeeper treated me badly too. I like to tip and say good morning, but I didn’t feel these women deserved my kindness. Laundry costs $4 per washer or dryer load. I finally met a man who’d worked there 10 years, and he was warm, talkative, and very polite. He also agreed that the women were rude and seemed not to like their jobs. There are snacks, but after I saw a roach in the vending machine and the housekeeper laughed when I pointed it out, I left without buying anything. The room had a microwave and mini fridge. The AC and heat worked well, but the shower pressure was weak and the hot water didn’t stay hot long. The pool was clean but we couldn’t use it, and the TV had few channels. The room was clean, though the bathroom needed more attention. There were lots of crying kids, and for several nights we heard a guest woman yelling at her cheating husband by the front desk. Very annoying. Cigarette smell was strong, and my room key stopped working on days two, three, and four, so I kept going back to the desk for another. I paid a little over $700 for six days. I wouldn’t return, mainly because of the rude staff and the need for better cleaning. I wasn’t asking for a full room clean, just a smile, a few towels, and one trash can emptied. I feel bad about not tipping, but their attitudes made it hard.

My husband booked a week for work and accidentally chose Sunday, though he was arriving Monday. When he called Monday morning, they said he’d lost the booking because he hadn’t checked in Sunday, and they wouldn’t refund him or even let him check in a day late. He had already paid, so they kept the money for that night. He’ll be working nearby for four months and staying Monday through Friday, so they lost out on about $400 a week, or $6,400 total. He’ll stay at the Best Western on Pacific Coast Highway instead, paying a little more, which we don’t mind. When we asked them about this situation, they said they’d let him keep his booking. With good customer service, they’ll make about $7,300 from his stay.

The staff at the front desk, Roy, Simha, and Abhi, have been amazing with me and my family, including my dog. They’re friendly and very accommodating. Our room is spacious, the beds are comfortable, and housekeeping keeps the building extremely clean. This is the best motel I’ve stayed at, and I’d recommend it to anyone.

I was in town for work and booked a week, but traffic made me three hours late for check-in. They canceled the whole reservation and kept every dollar, with no refund at all. That’s awful customer service. They’re crooks, don’t stay here.

You get a decent stay for the price, with free parking and quiet, spacious sleeping rooms. The location is central to freeways, restaurants, and shopping. Rooms are simple and clean, but the flooring is poor quality. In room 227, the vinyl planks weren’t fitted properly and shift underfoot. There was no shampoo in the bathroom.
