Hilton Garden Inn Cartersville

Brittney was the bartender who made my stay feel special. She was incredibly sweet, the service was top notch, and we had a delightful conversation. Chris cooked me the best steak I’ve had in months. They both went out of their way to take great care of others, and deserve a big bonus. In a world full of selfish people, that really stood out.

The renovated rooms and lobby look nice, and the staff were great. My only gripe is that breakfast is now ordered from a menu instead of served as a buffet. The food is still good, but the buffet was faster and easier. Other HGI properties still offer one, so I don't know why this one doesn't.

The hotel looks great, and the staff were friendly and helpful, but I barely slept. Noise carried from everywhere: hallway conversations sounded so clear in my room that I nearly went out to join in, and the guests upstairs stomped around like they were practicing for an event or dropping a bowling ball. I could hear bathroom sounds from neighboring rooms too. The walls spread every noise like a gossiping coworker. The bed was hard enough to feel like rock, and the sheets and blankets had a faint chemical smell. It wasn't overpowering, just strange enough to make me wonder whether they'd come from a lab testing chamber. After Thanksgiving week in Florida, Cartersville was my midpoint stop on the long drive home. The sharp-looking lobby and neat, clean room made the Hilton Garden Inn seem like a perfect place to revive my road-tired self. Between the sound, the firm bed, and the general fight to sleep, it didn't turn out to be the restful break I'd hoped for.

The pool was being worked on when I visited, so I couldn't use it. Still, I liked the hotel and its service. The room and bathroom were clean and smelled fresh, and the towels did too. They had two complimentary water bottles, a fridge, microwave, shampoo, conditioner, and soap. No toothpaste, though. So far, this is the best Hilton Garden Inn.
