The staff were genuinely friendly, and I enjoyed chatting with everyone we met over the weekend. They knew the surrounding area well. If you bring a dog, there’s a lovely yard out back with lots of space for a walk, though it isn’t fenced. I was glad to find a hotel that allows dogs, but $40 per dog is incredibly expensive. Our room hadn’t been vacuumed, and I found empty liquor bottles and other trash in a drawer while looking for an extra blanket. There was no coffee in the room, and the front desk said they were out. I can put up with an outdated room where a few things don’t work right, but there’s no excuse for not finishing the cleaning.

Zach, Ty, and the GM were all good people and made this one of my best hotel stays ever. Everyone was friendly, easy to talk to, and really helpful, going above and beyond.

The breakfast was a letdown: eggs were the only food available, the juice machines were broken, and there was syrup but no waffle maker. Cereal was the only thing I felt safe eating. I wouldn’t return to Precious Hotel, and I doubt the email response saying they’ll work on things will be true. Save your money and sleep in your car or somewhere decent. The rooms were outdated and poorly kept. In the first one, old food was left in the fridge, the trash cans were dirty, and the unusually high bed seemed to have crumbs on it. We switched rooms, but it wasn’t much better. You could hear kids running and stomping, and it smelled strongly of cigarette smoke despite the hotel claiming to be non-smoking. There was fecal matter around the toilet and a pubic hair. The Precious Moments theme was underwhelming, just a case of figures alongside random Kobe Bryant posters (RIP). This was the worst hotel I’ve stayed in. Even at a low price, basic cleanliness standards weren’t met.

The front desk people were cool, but this room needed much better housekeeping. I didn’t complain to them because I felt the problems were housekeeping issues. The fridge was warm or unplugged, there were stains on the sheets and duvet, and the room could have been much cleaner. I usually leave a housekeeping tip when a room is nice, but this one needed a lot of work. Housekeeping should take more pride in the job. I prepaid online for a king and got two queens instead. I checked for bed bugs and found none. The entrance door opener for people with disabilities didn’t work from either side, and there was no sign about it. The pool and spa information said there was a hot tub, but there wasn’t one in the building. I skipped breakfast because of the room condition. Room 231 also had a broken towel rack and toilet paper holder, a large brown stain on the shower curtain, and no working heat in the fridge. Do better.

We’ve stayed here several times for a little getaway, since it’s a few towns away and gives my husband and me a vacation feeling from our busy life with kids. This time, after I paid online and showed up with my ID, they refused to give me a room because my home was “within 50 miles.” I’d never been told about this rule when paying or during our previous stays. Now the hotel and Priceline both refuse to refund me, saying the rule wasn’t in the policy. If this is for safety, they should tell people before taking their money. The general manager gave me the same kind of response as on other guests’ reviews. I feel they took my money, and could do the same to others. Very disappointing, and I wouldn’t recommend this place.
