Landing Weston Lakeside Apartments

I’m moving in this week and am really looking forward to it. Pam helped me find an apartment after I relocated here for work, and she was a pleasure to deal with. She clearly cares about the residents. Every resident who passed by seemed happy to see her, and she knew them all. That says a lot.

I liked my apartment and, during my 15 months there, only had a few minor concerns involving maintenance or the leasing staff. The community itself was great, but I’d be careful about the corporate billing and the deposit waiver. I had several extra charges on my account that took weeks, sometimes nearly a month, to remove, even though I’d notified them well in advance. Late fees were added in the meantime, which caused me a lot of anxiety. The leasing staff kept in touch, but corporate still took weeks to clear simple charges. The community is described as deposit-free, but the waiver means paying a monthly fee. I paid more than $500 over my stay, and none of that went toward repairs when I moved out, even though I was charged separately for damages. I was told the waiver money wouldn’t be used for repairs, so it felt like the payments were simply kept. I recommend considering a refundable deposit instead if you want your money returned or applied to the apartment when you leave. I’ll attach photos of the damage I was charged $600 for. Be sure to leave nothing behind, since they’ll charge for it. Aside from that, it’s a great community.

Our family has moved into the 3BR apartment and we’re really happy with it. It’s spacious, clean, and has a great location with a view of the lake. Lynne Kondor made leasing easy and kept checking in to see if I had questions. Her help made our move from SC go smoothly, and working with her to secure the place was a pleasure.

Pam and Billy Z. were especially efficient and professional. When maintenance was requested for my water filter, Billy fixed it in minutes. The complex is decent and peaceful, with spacious rooms and modern equipment. Parking is plentiful and unassigned, and RDU airport, Amtrak, supermarkets, and convenience stores are nearby, within about five miles. The downside is the monthly $35 charge instead of a refundable deposit. Over a 12-month lease, that’s $420 in nonrefundable fees. I’d rather pay that amount up front and be able to take it back when I move. They could also add more trash bins and make valet trash optional, since trash left in hallways sometimes makes them smell. The complex rating is 4.3/5 and the staff rating is 5/5.
