Sleep Inn & Suites Gettysburg

Being close to the battlefields was convenient, but I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it. The room looked sort of clean at first, though the stained carpet and filthy loveseat made it clear it wasn’t. The sink was missing its drain cover, and the bathroom had a musty smell. Breakfast had very few options, and the price felt far too high for the condition of the place.

The front desk staff were very nice, and the location was good, but the hotel was so dirty that I checked the bed for bedbugs before getting in. I didn’t find any. There were bugs all over the trash can by the elevator, and our room smelled like dirty feet. Black mold was in the shower, too. The previous guests’ dirty washcloth had been left there; after I politely mentioned it, they said they’d get it and clean the tub again, but they never did. The breakfast was inedible: the sausage wasn’t cooked and even the powdered eggs weren’t edible. The waffles were decent. We booked for a wedding, expecting little more than somewhere to sleep. Never again. If you can, pay a little more and stay at the Marriott.

It was quiet and relaxing at Sleep Inn, and the room was clean, comfortable, and well cared for. Staff were friendly and ready to help with whatever I needed. Breakfast had a good range of choices. I had a wonderful stay and would definitely return. Great value for the price.

We spent a lovely week here, and the front desk took care of every request right away. The beds were soft and comfortable. Breakfast was the letdown: it was mostly the same each day, with only the hot food changing. The muffins and cinnamon roll were stale, and the coffee was horrendous. I’d get coffee at the Royal Farms next door.
