Motel 6 Casper

I paid for three nights last week in December, but the main heater wasn’t working, so there was only a small portable heater in the room. The internet was down, the sink was clogged, and the power went out at 3 a.m. I called that morning to check out and asked for a refund for the remaining two days. The man yelled “FINE” and hung up. It’s the second week now, and I still haven’t received the money for those two nights.

Never again. Bugs were in the folded clean towels, and the rooms had basic problems: the first had no working bathroom lights, while in the next room the main lights didn’t work and the sink was nearly clogged. Nearby dogs barked on and off all night, then howled in obvious distress for hours early in the morning. It was a sad situation and felt like neglect. The front desk said nothing could be done until checkout. He said calling the police would cost the owner $300, then tried to call the owner, but the phone was disconnected. With what seemed like obvious drug use and other questionable activity, the situation seemed beyond what the staff could handle.

The rooms felt old and not worth the money, though I hope they make improvements. The pillows were oddly folded and lumpy, and the curtains weren’t thick enough to block the bright parking lot lights. There was plenty of handicap parking but not much regular parking. We came back from dinner to find someone had turned off the lights in our room. There also wasn’t anywhere to walk the dog, since every grassy area had a no-dogs sign.

The rooms are very clean, the beds are comfortable, and the shower gets nice and hot. The staff are always really helpful. A great place to stay.
