Ramkota Hotel

We booked a room block well ahead of an important event, but the hotel moved our whole group to another property without telling us or getting our consent. That disrupted our plans, confused our guests, and added a lot of stress. Trying to get answers made things worse. Staff were rude and dismissive every time we spoke with them. They offered no solution or apology, and didn’t take responsibility. Communication was poor and unprofessional throughout. Moving a reserved group without permission was bad enough, and the lack of respect afterward made the experience even worse. We trusted them with an important event and they let us down completely. Based on what happened, I’d urge anyone considering a group or event booking to look elsewhere. We were left with stress and disappointment, and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

The location was decent, and I was in town for a volleyball tournament so didn’t explore much. Breakfast was just okay, though the staff member serving it, an elderly lady whose name I wish I’d caught, was really sweet and friendly. Check your receipt, since they overcharged me. I wouldn’t rate this as a four-star hotel, more like a two or 2.5. Our room wasn’t very clean, with hair in the beds. The beds were uncomfortable, the blankets felt like sandpaper, and the AC didn’t work at all. I could hear people talking, dogs barking, and toilets flushing all night. The pool and hot tub are there, but the tub had dirt along the bottom and kids kept jumping in and out. The elevators seemed sketchy, and I’m not looking forward to using them again. The hotel could definitely use updates.

Celeste, the event coordinator, was wonderful and very friendly, and my daughter had fun at her birthday party. The stay itself was so disappointing that I won’t hold another party there or recommend working with them. First, the front desk gave us a room that was clearly still occupied. We opened the door and saw someone else’s belongings. When I told the desk clerk, he just kept looking at his computer, made another key, and gave us a new room number without saying anything. That room was disgusting. It looked like someone had brushed off the bed and tossed the blankets on, and we weren’t sure the bedding was clean. We decided not to sleep there. Luckily the party came with the room and we live locally, so we could go home afterward. The next morning, I told the woman at the desk we hadn’t stayed because the room was gross. She just said, “okay you’re free to set up for your party.” The service was terrible, despite how much fun the party was for my daughter.

The rooms are old and dirty. Our comforters were stained, there was gum stuck to the ceiling and trash under the beds, and some outlet ground plugs were broken. I also found mold spots in the shower and missing screws on the outlet covers. There were safety and health problems all over the place. The elevator was very slow too.
