Holiday Inn Express Castro Valley - I-580 by IHG

The people here were the best part for us. They were consistently courteous and made an exception for our early arrival, which we really appreciated. The hotel is near several major highways, with restaurants and shops close by, and Oakland Airport is about a 15-minute drive away. Even while the place is being renovated, we were very impressed. We'd strongly recommend it for a future visit to Castro Valley.

The breakfast was tasty, and the WiFi signal in my room was strong. The shower had perfect temperature and pressure, and I didn't hear much noise from the location. The room was a good size, though the fitted sheet was so rough I slept on the top sheet with the comforter. I think that comes from washing those items with extra hot water and bleach without softener. The towels were rough too. The bed was a little softer than the one at the Holiday Inn hotel I stayed at the night before, not the Express, where it was extremely hard. A good business option for an overnight stay.

We've stayed at this Holiday Inn Express several times when visiting the Bay Area, and it feels almost like a second home. The staff learned our names after just a couple visits and still remember them, even though we come less often now. Everyone is friendly and accommodating, and we feel safe and at home. The rooms are spacious, and parking is free. Breakfast is free and adequate, but you really have to try the cinnamon rolls. There's a small gym, plus a sauna and hot tub that feel like a hidden secret. Lots of places are walkable too. We've gone to Wendy's, the mini-golf, and a cute little cafe on a side street across the way. Highly recommend.

The staff were really friendly, and the breakfast room was clean and beautiful. The rooms have been nicely renovated.
