The safari with Richard was the highlight, especially the trap shoot. My husband and daughter were jealous they missed it, so we’re already booking the cowboy cabin. We loved seeing the bison and red stag, and the lemurs were adorable. Feeding them was my son’s favorite part. This was a weekend away for me and my 13-year-old son, and he loved it. Carol was such a lovely host and worked around our schedule. We stayed in the log cabin, which felt like stepping back in time. Ruth took us on a wonderful horseback ride and was a sweetheart. The trees and stars are beautiful here. Carol has made something really special at Blisswood, a one-of-a-kind place. I can’t recommend it enough.

Miss Carol made sure everything was taken care of, from booking through departure. Her communication and help with scheduling were great, and the whole trip went smoothly. My husband and I spent two nights getting away from Houston, and the safari was a lot of fun. Feeding and meeting the animals made for a memorable experience. Our cabin, Sunset Pond, was charming and rustic but had all the comforts of home. It sits among the property’s 100+ year-old oaks, and we loved having coffee on the porch in the morning and watching the sunset over our private pond. We’d go back in a heartbeat. Richard was a terrific instructor, and Justine made the horseback ride feel fun and easygoing. We booked the Texas Dude Ranch Package for my husband’s birthday, and it turned into an unforgettable experience at Blisswood. It’s only about an hour from Houston, so it feels like a real escape without a long drive. We’re already making plans to come back, and I’d definitely recommend it.

BlissWood even let us bring our elderly dogs, which made the family trip possible. Carol, the owner, was so sweet and checked in by text to see how we were doing. We added the hug a horse, two rides for our daughter, and the safari, and each experience was just right. Everyone was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. My six-year-old loves horses and had such a good time that she doesn’t want to leave. We wanted to treat her to a vacation because she’s been such a wonderful daughter, and finding this place worked out perfectly. I’ll tell people what a lovely spot it is to unwind and enjoy God’s creation.
