I was hesitant about booking this kind of place for a last-minute stay of a few days, but I'm really glad I did. I felt safe, it was quiet, and I was close to where I needed to be. The area has what you need, with a gas station for snacks and drinks within walking distance and a handful of other nearby places. For the money, I got more than I expected. It's simple, nowhere near five-star, but the rooms are clean, the beds are comfy, and the TV channel selection is impeccable. I saw reviews saying it was better than hotels costing $200 or more a night, and I get it. I'll stay here on my next trip!

The one disappointment was that my request for a late checkout was turned down early in the morning by someone other than the person who checked me in. Their website lists late checkout as an option. I was in a situation where I needed to stay in a hotel for my safety, and that extra time would have helped until a local agency could get me to the next safe place. Even so, it was a nice hotel for the price. It was very quiet, clean, had no strange smells, and nothing was broken. It looked recently renovated, and the front desk person at check-in was very personable. It was actually nicer than a hotel I paid over $200 a night for at the beach.

I can't blame the hotel for my grandson's white Xbox controller being left behind. I packed his things while he was sleeping, missed it, and tried calling to ask if the manager could mail it, even COD. We were already home in Virginia, more than ten hours away, before he noticed it wasn't in his backpack, so I couldn't go back for it. He's upset since it was his only controller, and I feel terrible. I promised to get him a new one when I can come up with the cash. I don't know what happened to the one we left behind. The stay itself was great. The room was quiet, very clean, smelled nice, and everything worked. We checked in around 9:30, planning to sleep three or four hours, shower, and get back on the road, but I slept until 4 a.m. and we didn't leave until almost 6. It was such a needed rest that I wasn't upset about oversleeping. We'd once checked into another suites place where the TV didn't work, the microwave wouldn't heat, and the front desk staffer didn't offer another room or a refund even after we asked her to look.
