The rooms are comfortable, the breakfast is really good, and the location is perfect. I’ve stayed in four different rooms at The Bard’s Inn over the past 3-4 years during my yearly festival weekend, and they’ve all been great. I love staying here and plan to bring my daughters next time for a mother-daughters weekend as well as my solo time. I highly recommend it.

The location is great, with so much of downtown Cedar City within walking distance, and we were pleasantly surprised that our room was ready very early. We booked the Oberon Room in the carriage house behind the main building. It felt more modern and less historic, so if you want the old-time feel, you’d probably prefer the main building. Still, we really wanted to like this place, but for us it was a swing and a miss. We were looking for a B&B like one we loved in St. George that’s no longer around, and this looked similar. A heads-up about the construction next door would have helped. From 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., large dirt movers disturbed the peace. If you want a daytime nap after a hike, that’s not happening. It looked like townhouses were being built. I know it wasn’t the innkeepers’ fault, and the workers weren’t to blame either, but people don’t like surprises. We would have stayed here another week if we’d known what to expect. The Oberon Room had a fully stocked kitchen, which I loved, but something in it smelled like a wet dog. There were cobwebs in the lower corners, and the room itself had a musty smell that brought on my allergies during our stay. The beds were nice, especially the old-fashioned beaded decorative pillows, but the comforters had stains. The place in St. George that we liked managed to feel historic and still be clean. Breakfast was mixed. The cold buffet had a good spread of jams, breads, fruit, muffins, oatmeal, and more. The two hot choices the day we ate were dry ham steak cuts and breakfast casserole, which weren’t our thing. As of this posting, there was only one other negative review, so clearly plenty of people enjoy it. It just wasn’t for us.

Such a cute, welcoming place! We loved the breakfast and how close it is to the Shakespeare Festival. We’d stay again. The image shows a really nice sitting room.

The room had a lovely layout, with one bed upstairs by the bathroom and another downstairs beside a small kitchen. It was beautiful, clean, and well maintained. We really enjoyed our stay at the Bard's Inn Bed & Breakfast. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and breakfast was very good: sausage, egg frittata with broccoli and red peppers, fresh fruit, and toast. A perfect start to the day. We definitely recommend checking them out.

We stayed in the lovely Rosalind room, decorated in an equestrian style that was tasteful and easy on the eyes. Everything was comfortable, and our room was spotless and carefully prepared. The bathroom was exceptionally clean, tidy, and stocked with all the little details. The care throughout really impressed us: bottled water, chocolates for the evening, fresh-ground coffee, and proper mugs to enjoy it in. Breakfast each day was delicious. Sitting in the sunroom with coffee, food, and nice conversation with other guests felt relaxing, like stepping back to a more polite, simpler time. This is an adorable, charming, welcoming B&B in historic Cedar City, and we’d love to return.
