Days Inn by Wyndham York Alabama

This motel is rundown, looks shady, and nothing seems to work. The employees were rude and untrained. There were roaches in my room, the bed was dirty, and the room smelled nasty. Someone told me I should have driven one more exit to a better hotel, and next time I will. Never again.

Our room wasn't ready when we arrived, and the computer system was down so the staff couldn't check me in. They only realized I had a reservation after I showed them my Expedia receipt. There were also several adults and children going in and out of the office area.

There's hardly anything around, just a gas station that's in no better shape than the "hotel." We booked online, but when we arrived at 7 p.m. they had no record of it, and our room still wasn't clean or ready. The whole place felt like a bad movie, just a motel on the side of the road.

The first room had no inside door handle. Once the door shut, you couldn't open it unless you were strong or had pliers. Maintenance was supposed to fix it while we were out all day, but when we got back around 10:30 p.m., they moved us to another room. There, the vanity light was very dim and there was no TV. They brought one in, but my husband had to connect it and program it himself. It was very late by the time we got to bed, and we had to be out by 11 a.m. the next morning. Kids were outside our door, loudly running up and down the sidewalk all night.
