Econo Lodge Cedar Rapids South

The woman at the desk was courteous and check-in went well. The room, though, was nasty and unclean, the bedding looked like it hadn't been washed in a while, and there were roaches. I won't stay again.

We were in the room for maybe five minutes and left. The lobby looked nice, but the room was awful: broken, dirty light switches; yellow stains on towels; black smudges and hair in the sink and tub; and urine stains around the bedframe corners. I wiped the bed edge with a towel and urine came off on it. The ceiling had burn marks or mold. We paid for a smoke-free room, but the smoke smell was so strong my coworker with health conditions developed a rash. This was the most disappointing hotel I've ever walked into. It should be shut down. I wish I could post the photos here.

The hotel was quiet, and customer service was excellent, no complaints there. But the walls had yellow streaks that looked like nicotine, and it was clear they weren't wiped down when rooms were cleaned. Cockroaches crawled in front of the TV while I was trying to relax, and I had to worry about catching them before they got into my things. I killed quite a few within a few hours. That's unacceptable. They need an exterminator.

The hotel smelled like fish throughout. The room seemed okay for one night, until we found a cockroach in the morning. We told the front desk, and they only said they'd bring it up with the exterminator. Disgusting, and I'm never staying here again.
