Holiday Inn Express Cedar Rapids (Collins Rd) by IHG

Breakfast was a highlight for us. There was plenty to choose from, and the lemon cranberry muffin went especially well with hot coffee. Our room was spacious and spotless, with lots of lights and the amenities stocked nicely, so settling in after traveling was easy. The common areas were tidy too. We had a quick, friendly check-in in the evening, and the staff helped make the whole stay pleasant. We'd gladly recommend this welcoming, well-run place.

Our bowling teams stay here whenever we're in Cedar Rapids. The staff are helpful, the rooms are clean, and breakfast is great.

The bathroom made the accessible-room description especially frustrating. It had a regular tub with a bench, a standard shower head and just one grab bar under the shower head, not where someone would stand. The tub floor barely had any slip protection. There was a bar by the toilet, but we had to use it for towels since there was nowhere else to put them except the toilet lid or the wet tub. Even a small shelf under the sink would have helped, but there wasn't one. A hallway emergency button and a lower peephole don't make this room handicapped accessible. Please don't advertise it that way. We booked the last room at this Holiday Inn near Marion, IA for three nights while visiting relatives. The window-shade mechanism was broken, and the desk lamp didn't work on our first day. The breakfast area also felt too small for all the groups during the busy weekend sports event. This wasn't an enjoyable stay, though we left politely without saying anything.

A comfortable place to rest, unwind, and get ready for the next day. The rooms, breakfast, and staff were all great.
